I came to art through working as an arts project manager and have been developing my own practice for a number of years.
I'm inspired by things that I see in my daily life (often on walks with my dog) including nature and aspects of architecture (particularly windows, gates and doors). I enjoy layering elements in my paintings, often using a variety of media to create texture. In my clay pieces, I enjoy exploring both figural and abstract ideas - I often work without any fixed idea and let the clay start to take a particular shape. I also love reading and bringing my imagination into what I make. My work brings together all of these elements and is an emotional and thoughtful response to what inspires and moves me.
